Obituary: Ann Sims Waddell, 73, Bardstown

Ann Sims Waddell, 73, of Bardstown, died Friday, Jan. 29, 2016, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She was born Oct. 14, 1942, in Louisville to the late Martin Abel and Mary Christine Downs Sims. She was retired from General Electric and was a licensed barber. She a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church and a former member of St. Gregory Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Kenneth Waddell.

She is survived by two daughters, Tammy (Jeff Sr.) Wimpsett and Cindy (Rick Tinnell) Waddell, both of Bardstown; four sisters, Rose Jury, Joan (Bobby) Bowling, Chrisie (Robbie) Smith, all of Bardstown and April (Rick) Brooks of Louisville; four brothers, Millard (Linda) Sims and David (Brenda) Sims, both of Bardstown, Tommy (Terri) Sims Cox’s Creek and Martin (Diane) Sims of Louisville; seven grandchildren, B.J. and Erin Barnes, Jeffrey (Trish) Wimpsett, Bradley (Amy) Wimpsett, Jody, Jamie and Lacey Tinnell; and 10 great-grandchildren, Jackson Wimpsett, Gracie and Aiden Henley, Kynslee Fulkerson, Dontaye, Dominique, Breylan, Jamie, Jody Tinnell, Jr., and Terrena Sheckles.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with burial in the Bardstown Cemetery with Bro. Ray Johnson officiating.

Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016, at the funeral home.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
