Obituary: Amie Lee Edelen, 63, Bardstown

AMIE LEE EDELEN

Amie Lee Edelen, 63, of Bardstown, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, at her residence. She was born Feb. 3, 1952, in Bardstown to the late Newman Thomas and MayBelle Stone Rogers. She was a nurse at Shriners Hospital for Children in Lexington and Flaget Hospital. She was a member of the Buddist faith.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Thomas “Donnie” Rogers and one sister Nancy Downs.

She is survived by one son, David (Amanda) Edelen of Lexington; three brothers, Kevin (Patricia) Rogers, Wayne (Sheri) Rogers and Wendell Rogers, all of Bardstown; three grandchildren, Desiree Edelen, Deriann Edelen and Daevin Edelen; one great-grandchild, Lilly Turpin; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Cremation was chosen by the family. Her memorial service is 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home.

Visitation is 2-6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road, Bardstown, is in charge of arrangements.
