Obituary: Charles Richard ‘Dick’ Molohon, 88, Bardstown

CHARLES RICHARD “DICK” MOLOHON

Charles Richard “Dick” Molohon, 88, of Bardstown, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016, at his residence. He was born July 8, 1927, in Owensboro to the late Fredrick Bryan and Virginia Isabel Hamilton Molohon. He was a retired employee of General Electric, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and a member of American Legion Post 121. He was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church where he was an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. He was a member of the St. Gregory Men’s Club.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 56 years, Ruby Greenwell Molohon; one daughter, Virginia Catherine Molohon; and two brothers, Patrick H. Molohon and James W. Molohon.

He is survived by his wife, Dona Mae Hendricks Molohon; one daughter, Ann F. Molohon of Bardstown; four sons, Charles Rick (Winifred) Molohon Jr., and Calvin L. Molohon, both of Bardstown, Ronald B. (Ann) Molohon of Osteen, Fla. and Patrick J. (Joelle) Molohon of Rockmart, Ga.; one sister, Catherine Chandler of Jacksonville, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, at St. Gregory Catholic Church with the Rev. Joe Graffis and Rev. Culpepper Elliott con-celebrating. Burial is in the St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6 p.m.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
