Obituary: Joseph Paul Spalding Jr., 79, Lebanon
Joseph Paul Spalding Jr., 79, of Lebanon, died Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville. He was born Nov. 29, 1936, in Lebanon. He was a retired employee of General Electric and a farmer. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Catherine Mildred Luckett Spalding; and one daughter, Karen White.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Ann Mattingly Spalding of Lebanon; two daughters, Kathy (Mike) Thompson and Janet (Frank) Southall, both of Lebanon; one son, Brian (Renee) Spalding of Lebanon; two sisters, Debbie (Mark) Spalding of Lebanon and Mary Ann (Mike) Dodson of Bardstown; six brothers, Pat (Lucille) Spalding, Rob (Sue Ann) Spalding, Sam (Brenda) Spalding, Mike (Rita) Spalding, Carl (Glenda) Spalding, Tim (Rosie) Spalding, all of Lebanon; 10 grandchildren, Matt (Nicole) Thompson, Derrick (Olivia) Thompson, Kelly Gaunce, Patrick White, Chloe White, Michael Southall, Christopher Southall, John Southall, Dylan Spalding, Satchel Spalding; and eight great-grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Calvary with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, at the funeral home with prayers at 7 p.m. with Deacon Joe Dant.
