VIRGINIA “GINNY” BLAIR CECIL

Virginia “Ginny” Blair Cecil, 65, of Bardstown, died Monday Feb. 1, 1016, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. She was born Nov. 30, 1950, in Lebanon. She worked at American Fuji Seal for 46 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a member of the Purchasing Association, did administrative support for the Knights of Columbus and St. Joe Prep Alumni, and was a Class of 1968 Bethlehem High School Alumni organizer.

She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Blair; her father and mother-in-law, Elmer and Alice Mackin Cecil; and one son-in-law, Jason Fabek.

She is survived by her husband, John Cecil of Bardstown; two daughters, Michelle Cecil-Fabek and Jaime (Jason) Shields, both of Bardstown; one son, Kyle (Whitne’) Cecil of Paris; her mother, Mary Blair; two sisters, Patty Ann (Kenny) Nevitt and Joan (Randy) Bramel, both of Bardstown; one brother, Jim (Karel) Blair of Hopkinsville; four grandchildren, Ryan Fabek, Carly Fabek, Jakob Shields and Jaden Shields; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Terry Bradshaw will officiate.

Visitation is noon-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, 9-10:15 a.m. Friday, February 5, 2016 at Barlow Funeral Home. A prayer service is 5 p.m. Thursday.

Memorial contributions may go to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
