Woman indicted for recent stabbing incident on Highview Church Rd.

Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, 5:30 p.m. — The woman who allegedly stabbed a man last Thursday at a home in the 1900 block of Highview Church road was indicted Wednesday on assault charges by a Nelson County grand jury.
Amanda Gayle Barnett, 25, was indicted on first-degree assault charges after she allegedly stabbed the man she lives with in his abdomen.
On Thursday, Jan. 28, the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office and Nelson County EMS were dispatched to 1910 Highview Church Road for a reported stabbing. According to a police report at the time, Barnett and the victim have a history of domestic disputes.
The victim was taken by EMS to Taylorsville where he was transferred to a medical helicopter and flown to University Hospital in Louisville for treatment of his wounds.
She will be arraigned at 9 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016 in Nelson Circuit Court. Her bail will be determined at that hearing, according to the Nelson Circuit Clerk’s office.
