JOSEPH LEE JOHNSON

Joseph Lee Johnson, 71, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, at his residence. He was born April 21, 1944, in Bardstown to the late Raymond and Mary Catherine Bivens Johnson. He was a graduate of St. Joseph Preparatory School, a U.S. Air Force veteran, a retired employee of Bird & Son, a former member of the Bardstown Board of Education, and a member of St. Monica Catholic Church.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Mona Marie Conner Johnson; and one brother, Raymond Johnson.

He is survived by two daughters, Lisa Johnson of Louisville, and Rita Johnson of Griffin, Ga.; one son, Wesley Johnson of Louisville; two brothers, James Lloyd (Faye) Johnson of Perryville and John Johnson of Bardstown; a special friend, Betty Jean Burton of Danville; and several nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, at St. Monica Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Batcheldor officiating. Burial is in the Bardstown Cemetery.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
