Obituary: Joseph Thomas Cox, 73, Bardstown
Joseph Thomas Cox, 73, of Bardstown, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, at his residence. He was born April 27, 1942, in Spencer County, and was a member of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Laura Ethel Cox; three sisters, Mary Ethel Hilbert, Dorothy Ann Nalley, and Janie Chesser; and one brother, Robert “Bobby” Cox.
He is survived by his companion of 18 years, Charlotte Shields of Bardstown; his precious dog, Suzie Q; one daughter, Lisa (Steve) Douglas of Bardstown; one son, Joseph Richard (Gloria) Cox of Bloomfield; two sisters, Nancy Cahoe of Bardstown, and Lois Gordon of Fairfield; one brother, Billy Ray Cox of Mount Washington; four grandchildren, Logan Cox, Erin Arnold, Mara Cox, and Kaila Duff; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Saturday Feb. 6, 2016, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in the Bardstown Cemetery with Pastor Mavis Bennett officiating.
Visitation is 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may go to donor’s favorite charity.
