Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, 10:15 a.m. (Updated 11:15 a.m.) — A Cox’s Creek woman was injured when her car rear-ended a pickup truck stopped in traffic at the intersection of Louisville Road and Sullivan Lane.
According to the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, Martha M. Hernandez, 20, was driving north on Louisville Road when she came up behind a 2004 Chevrolet pickup truck stopped on the road waiting to make a left turn onto Sullivan Lane. Hernandez crested the hill south of Sullivan Lane and was unable to stop her 2002 Chevrolet Malibu in time to avoid a collision. Nelson County Fire & Rescue responded to extricate Hernandez out of her vehicle. She was transported by Nelson County EMS directly to University Hospital in Louisville with facial and leg injuries.
