JOSEPH ARTHUR WIMSATT

Joseph Arthur Wimsatt, 82, of Bardstown, died Sunday, Feb. 07, 2016, at Colonial Health and Rehab in Bardstown. He was born April 25, 1933, in Nelson County to the late John Bradley and Mary Teresa Yates Wimsatt. He was a self-employed millwright, a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Gladys Curtsinger Wimsatt; two sisters, Josephine Edelen and Louise Thompson; and two brothers, Johnny Wimsatt and Eugene Wimsatt.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna (Mike) Wilhite of Bardstown, Lorie (Steve Graves) Bowling of Springfield; four sons, Dale (Robin) Wimsatt, Tony Wimsatt and Timmy Wimsatt, all of Botland and Mike (Debbie) Wimsatt of Bardstown; four sisters, Marie Grigsby, Geri (John) Werkman and Mary Wimsatt, all of Bardstown and Barbara (Carl) Nett of Elizabethtown; three brothers, Edward (Pauline) Wimsatt of New Hampshire, Earl (Rosie) Wimsatt of Fairborn, Ohio and Bev (Mary Annette) Wimsatt of Bardstown; 12 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery with the Rev. Matthew Hardesty officiating.

Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Wednesday with a prayer service Wednesday evening at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home.

Expression of sympathy have been requested as masses for Arthur Wimsatt.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
