Obituary: Gladys Rae Clark, 83, Nazareth

GLADYS RAE CLARK

Gladys Rae Clark, 83, of Nazareth, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016, at her residence. She was born Jan. 19, 1933, in Boston to the late John H. and Gladys Mae Wilson Watson. She was a retired employee of Barton Distillery, a CNA at Nazareth and Loretto Motherhouse, and a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. She was a loving mother and retired caregiver that touched countless lives.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William C. “Billy” Clark; two sons, William C. “Bill” Clark Jr. and Charles W. “Chuck” Clark; three sisters, Lillian Harrell, Juanita Vittitow and Betty Lou Johnson; two brothers, James Watson and John Watson; and one grandson, Robbie Wilson.

She is survived by five daughters, Jeanette (Rodger) McBride of Huntertown, Ind., Brenda (Jerry) Snelling of Big Clifty, Diania (Vincent) Cecil, Linda Gail (Mickey) Brothers and Bonnie (Harold) Johnson, all of Bardstown; three sons, William R. “Buddy” (Leshia) Clark of Georgetown, James Patrick “Pete” (Shelbie) Clark of Loretto, and John F. Clark of Bardstown, one sister, Joann (Billy) Thompson of Boston; two brothers, Hobert (Sandy) Watson of Elizabethtown and Samuel (Carol) Newton of Boston; numerous grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, at St. Thomas Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 2016, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with a prayer service will be held Friday evening.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
