Maple Hill home suffers heavy damage in Thursday night fire

Friday, Feb. 19, 2015, 1 a.m. — A Maple Hill home suffered heavy damage Thursday night in a blaze that was reported at about 10:20 p.m. Bardstown Fire and Nelson County EMS were dispatched to the 200 block of North Center Street for a structure fire. The first fire units reported flames were visible from the second floor of the home when they arrived. Firefighters had the fire under control in about 25 minutes. Crews remained on the scene until nearly 1 a.m.

The American Red Cross was called to assist the home’s occupants with immediate shelter needs.
