Obituary: William Patrick Riggs, 78, Boston

William Patrick Riggs, 78, of Boston, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at his home. He was retired from General Electric and a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Riggs; his parents, William Virgil and Mary Susanna Smith Riggs; three sisters, Edna Rose Wilcoxson, Marion Roby and Doris Anderson; two half-sisters, Agnita Crady and Aileen Munson; and two half-brothers, Clifford Riggs and Conley Riggs.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Helen McGee Riggs; three sons, Joe Riggs, Robert Riggs and Daniel Riggs; two daughters, Patty Yates and Vanessa Downing; two sisters, Helen Bryan and Inez Johnson; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and various nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 2016, at the Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction with Deacon Phillip Noltemeyer officiating. Burial is in St. Clare Cemetery.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016, at the funeral home.
