Female escapee apprehended Sunday afternoon in Hardin County

Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016, 4 p.m. — The Hardin County woman sought by police after she walked away from the Ross-Cash Center, the minimum-security facility for female offenders adjacent to the Western Kentucky Correctional Complex near Eddyville, was captured early Sunday morning by Kentucky State Police in the Flint Hill in southwestern Hardin County.

KSP Post 4 troopers arrested Lostia M. Shreves, 30, at a vacant residence on Harpool Lane. Troopers found her alone in the empty home and she was arrested without incident.

Shreves was serving time for a conviction on first-degree possession of a controlled substance, third-degree burglary, and unlawful distribution of a meth precursor. She faces another charge of third-degree burglary. She was lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center.

KSP Trooper Scott Wheatley is in charge of the investigation.
