Obituary: Joseph Parker Mattingly, 73, Bardstown

Joseph Parker Mattingly, 73, of Bardstown, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016, at his residence. He was born Feb. 12, 1943, in Loretto. He worked for Eastern Airlines and a member of the Moose Lodge.

funeral_lilyHe was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Ann Boone Mattingly; his mother, Mary C. Mattingly; and one sister, Shelby Jane Rogers.

He is survived by one daughter, Crystal (George) Nelson of Crystal River, Fla.; two sons, Joseph Bernard Mattingly of Gulfport, Miss.; and William Lee (Tera) Mattingly of Cox’s Creek; one sister, Dorothy Mae French of Shepherdsville; five grandchildren, Haley Elizabeth Mattingly, William Jacob Mattingly, Savannah Lynn Mattingly, Michelle Matarazzo, and Jason Nelson; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 29, 2016 at Barlow Funeral home with burial in the St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date. The Rev. Dan Waits is officiating.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016, and 9-11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may go to St. Gregory School.

The Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
