Boil-water advisory issued for areas along East Stephen Foster Avenue

Tuesday, March 1, 2016 — Residents who live in Bardstown along East Stephen Foster from Bloomfield Road to the Nelson County Justice Center are under a boil-water advisory due to work underway now to replace a defective water boil2520advisoryvalue.

The affected areas include Sylvan Drive; Demaree Drive; Beechwold Place; 507-603 Bloomfield Road; the northeast side of Guthrie Drive from East Stephen Foster to Bloomfield Road, including addresses between 103-109 on the southeast side of Guthrie Drive; and the north side of East Stephen Foster from address 442 to 512.

Customers may experience low or intermittent water pressure, and therefore, drinking water should be boiled as a precautionary measure.

Do not consume tap water that has not been disinfected, ice or drinks made from tap water that has not been disinfected, or raw foods rinsed with tap water that has not been disinfected.

Customers can disinfect water by boiling at a rolling boil for one minute

The City of Bardstown will notify customers through the local media and with road signage when the advisory is lifted.
