DARLENE PARKS CRUME

Darlene Parks Crume, 77, of Bloomfield, died Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at her residence. She was the former Darlene Parks, born Dec. 6, 1938, in Nelson County to the late Sim and Katie Carney Parks. She was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord and dedicated her life to caring for others as a home health caregiver, and an active member of the nursery, kitchen, and bereavement committees at Bloomfield Baptist Church, where she was a lifelong member.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Scottie Wainscott.

She was a loving wife to her husband of 61 years, Russell Crume; mother to her three daughters, Janis (Gary) Hayden of Bloomfield, Connie Boone of Bardstown, and Phyllis Crume of Georgetown; sister to Pauline Simpson of Bardstown and Joan Chowning of Louisville; and her brother, Bobby (Dolly) Parks of Bloomfield; granny to her grandchildren, Brian Boone, Jennifer Hayden, Jaime Gorham, Kristy (John) Hutchins, all of Bardstown; and her great-grandchildren, Victoria Hamilton, Jakob Gorham, and Hadley Boone; as well as an aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Her love surpassed her immediate family as she was a mother and granny to many others.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016, at the Bloomfield Baptist Church with Bro. Richard Carwile, Bro. Matt Thompson and Bro. Nick Bateman officiating. Burial is in the Big Spring Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2016, at the church.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Bloomfield Baptist Church Building Fund.

The Houghlin Funeral Home of Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
