Man injured after falling from a tree near Howardstown

emslogoSaturday, March 12, 2016, 5:45 p.m. — A 46-year-old man was injured Saturday afternoon after he fell out of tree he was cutting near Howardstown.

Nelson County EMS, LaRue County EMS, the Rolling Fork Fire Department and police were dispatched at about 4:45 p.m. to the 6500 block of Howardstown Road for a man injured in a fall. The man was up a tree about 15 feet from the ground when he fell to the ground and lost consciousness. Firefighters set up a landing zone for a medical helicopter which was called to the scene, and the victim was flown to University Hospital with chest and back pain.
