Obituary: Joseph Louis ‘Hee Haw’ Newton, 68, Holy Cross
Joseph Louis “Hee Haw” Newton, 68, of Holy Cross, died Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at Baptist Health Hospital. He was born July 23, 1947, in Holy Cross. He was retired from the Nelson County Road Department. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and loved horses and dogs.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mary Catherine Newton; four sisters, Leona Newton, Linda Faye Newton, Connie Sue Newton, and Barbara Sapp; and two brothers, Joseph Newton, and Timothy Wade Newton.
He is survived by his wife, Carol A. Newton of Holy Cross; his father, Joseph Buck Newton of New Haven; his mother, Mary Dorothy Newton of Bardstown; five sisters, Joyce (Michael) Ayers, Phyllis (Charlie) Nalley and Wanda (Bennie) Brooks, all of Bardstown, Margie (Jerry) Tucker of New Haven and Doris Jo (Gerry) Bowling of Georgetown; two brothers, Jimmy (Sharon) Newton of New Haven and Stevie (Tammy) Newton of Bardstown; and many nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2016, at Holy Cross Catholic Church with burial in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2016, and 9-10 a.m. Friday at the Barlow Funeral Home with a prayer service Thursday evening.
Memorial contributions may go to Kosair Children’s Hospital.
