Obituary: James G. Dennis, 88, Lebanon Junction
James G. Dennis, 88, of Lebanon Junction, died Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at his home. He was retired from General Electric, and was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. He attended both Temple Hill Apostolic Church in Boston and Dusty Acres Full Gospel House of Prayers.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Alice Stopher Dennis; one son, Bobby Dennis; one brother, Odis Dennis; one half-brother, Henry; one sister, Pearl Spurling; two half-sisters, Beulah and Vesta; one grandson, David Dennis and one granddaughter, Victoria Mattingly.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Jane Underwood Dennis; one daughter, Mary Blair (Gary); three sons, James E. “Lucky” Dennis, Danny Dale Dennis (Nena) and Chris Cole (Sherrie); three daughters-in-law, Amy Dennis, Carol Newton and Sandy Stopher; one half sister, Odell Brown; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral is noon Sunday, March 20, 2016, at Dusty Acres Full Gospel House of Prayers with Bro. Harold Decker officiating. Burial is in the Lebanon Junction City Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2016, and noon-8 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2016, at the Kappel Funeral in Lebanon Junction and after 10 a.m. Sunday at the church.
The Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction is in charge of the arrangements.
