Two indicted for allegedly passing forged checks totaling more than $11k

Thursday, March 17, 2016, 11:45 p.m. — Two people were indicted Wednesday on charges they passed three checks totalling $11,500 on another person’s account without that person’s permission.
Shame M. Ramsey, 24, of Bloomfield and Olivia A. Armes, 23, of Mount Washington were indicted Wednesday, March 16 by a Nelson County grand each on three counts of second-degree possession of a forged instrument and complicity to the same.
According to the indictment, between June 8 and July 8, 2015, Armes and Ramsey — acting alone or in concert with one another — are alleged to have knowingly passed the three forged checks at Lincoln National Bank in the amounts of $3,500, $5,000, and $3,500 on an account belonging to another person.
The charge is a Class D felony, punishable by one to five years in prison.
Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions, for each. The pair are set for arraignment in Nelson Circuit Court on Thursday, April 7, 2016.
