Obituary: Maude Ethel Cook, 92, Bardstown
Maude Ethel Cook, 92, of Bardstown, died Monday, March 28, 2016, at Windsor Gardens Assisted Living. She was born April 13, 1923, in Nelson County to the late William Thomas and Maude Elizabeth Dugan Yocum. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Cook; one stepson, Steve Cook, two sisters, Evelyn Avis and Rose Black; and two brothers, Thomas Yocum and Charles Ray Yocum.
She is survived by one stepson, Terry Cook of Louisville; two stepdaughters, Candy Garrett of Jeffersontown and Rebecca Eaves of Louisville; two sisters, Irma Livers and Roberta Nalley, both of Bardstown; three stepgrandchildren; 26 nieces and nephews; a special niece and caregiver, Debbie Osborne and several great nieces and nephews.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with burial in the Bardstown Cemetery with Bro. Ike Ferguson officiating.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2016, and after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road, is in charge of arrangements.
