Obituary: James Othel Potts, 75, Loretto
James Othel Potts, 75, of Loretto, died Monday, March 28, 2016, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville. He was born Jan. 18, 1941, in Nelson County. He was a former employee of General Electric Appliance Park in Louisville and was a Baptist by faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Carol Yates Potts; one infant daughter, Linda Potts; two sons, Richard Potts and Joe Potts; his parents, John David Potts, Sr. and Catherine Irene Spencer Potts; and three brothers, John Potts, Billy Potts and Rural Potts.
Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Humphrey of New Haven; three sons, James Othel Potts Jr. and James E. “Buck” Potts (Melanie), all of New Haven and Michael Potts (Betty Kay) of New Hope; one sister, Barbara Ann Gibson of Munfordville; 13 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2016, at the Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road in Loretto with Bro. Philip Drake officiating. Burial is in the Rolling Fork Baptist Church Cemetery in Boston.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
