Thursday, March 31, 2016 — A blood drive in memory of 12-year-old Reagan Carter is set for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 2 at the Oscar Getz Museum of Whiskey History, 114. N. Fifth St. in Bardstown.
The American Red Cross and Reagan’s Voice Foundation encourage eligible donors to stop in and donate.
Reagan was a vibrant 12-year-old who died by suicide as a result of bullying in December 2014. Before passing, she created a bucket list of 63 experiences she hoped to accomplish in her lifetime. Donating blood was No. 56.
“Reagan was such a giving and caring person,” said Melanie Hack, Reagan’s mother. “She was beautiful, intelligent, spunky, and always looking for ways she could try to help others. Donating blood was something we knew we wanted to do in her honor.”
ALL BLOOD TYPES NEEDED. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in.
