Brent Smith named KFB 2015 District Two Insurance Agent of the Year

Thursday, March 31, 2016 — Brent Smith, insurance agent for the Nelson County–West Agency of Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance, has been named 2015 Agent of the Year for District Two. The award was presented in Louisville during the company’s 61st annual sales conference on March 29.
The District Two Agent of the Year award recognizes an insurance agent’s excellence in overall sales production, satisfactory loss-ratio, service to policyholders and an affirmative attitude. District Two is a 22-county region consisting of agencies in the following counties: Allen, Barren, Breckinridge, Bullitt, Butler, Cumberland, Edmonson, Grayson, Green, Hardin, Hart, LaRue, Logan, Marion, Meade, Metcalfe, Monroe, Nelson, Simpson, Spencer, Warren and Washington.
Smith is a native of Nelson County who earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing at Western Kentucky University. He worked at State Farm for five years before becoming an agent with Kentucky Farm Bureau in November 2014. Outside of the office, he is a member of Millcreek Baptist Church, Ducks Unlimited and Delta Waterfowl. He and his wife, Britney, have two daughters.
Smith heads the list of a well-established network of nearly 400 Kentucky Farm Bureau agents statewide. The company, founded in 1943, has offices in all of the Commonwealth’s 120 counties.
