One dead, one injured after two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon

Saturday, April 2, 2016, 7 p.m. — One woman died and another was injured in a two-vehicle rear-end collision Saturday afternoon at the intersection of New Shepherdsville Road and Templin Avenue. City police and fire, and Nelson County EMS squads responded at 4 p.m. for a report of an individual trapped in their vehicle and one of the vehicles was on fire. Traffic on Templin and KY 245 were shut down while first-responders worked the accident.
The driver of one vehicle was suffered multiple fractures and possible internal injuries. The other driver complained of back pain. Both were transported to Flaget Memorial Hospital, where one of the women later died.
The Bardstown Police Department is investigating the accident.
