Police say they have an arrest warrant for alleged Tuesday shooting suspect

Tuesday, April 5, 2016, 5:45 p.m., UPDATED 9:40 P.M. — Bardstown Police have identified a Louisville man who is wanted for the Tuesday afternoon shooting near North Third St. and Daugherty Avenue..
Bardstown Police have an arrest warrant for Darnell Maurice McGee, 28, and plan to charge him with attempted murder; wanton endangerment, second-degree criminal mischief; and three counts of discharging a firearm in the city limits. Police allege McGee shot another man in the leg, seriously wounding him.
McGee is described at being a black male, 5-foot 8 inches in height, 140 pounds.
Police say McGee has friends in the Bardstown area and stays here frequently, and is believed to still be in the area.
Police identified McGee as the alleged shooter as they follow-up on leads and tips after the incident that took place Tuesday in the 700 block of North Third Street at the rear of Hardee’s restaurant in Bardstown.
The victim was shot in the thigh following an argument between the men at about 3:22 p.m., police say. The victim taken to Flaget Memorial Hospital helicopter pad and then flown to University Hospital for treatment of his gunshot wound.
At 5 p.m., police had several locations taped off, including Campbell Alley (the alley that runs north and south behind Hardee’s) in several places, and blocked off Halstead between North Third Street and Moore Avenue.
Nelson County Sheriff Ed Mattingly and several deputies were on scene helping to secure the scene while detectives continued their investigation.
The Fisher Auto Parts store at 708 North Third St. reported to police that their window was out and that they found a shell casing in the parking lot. An unfired 9mm round was also located elsewhere in the alley.
