Obituary: Lura Ellen Snider, 97, Bloomfield
LURA ELLEN SNIDER
Lura Ellen Snider, 97, died Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at Signature Healthcare at Colonial Rehab and Wellness Center in Bardstown. She was the former Lura Ellen Waldridge and was born Feb. 1, 1919, in Anderson County to the late Harry and Lily Beasley Waldridge. She was a homemaker and a member of Bloomfield Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Briggs Snider; two sisters, Helen Hagan and Nettie Waldridge; four brothers, Perry Waldridge, Virgil “Bud” Waldridge, Thursby “Buck” Waldridge, and Clabert Waldridge; one grandson, Jeff Owens.
She is survived by her daughter, Lillian (Bruce) Owens of New Castle; one son, Andy Snider of Bloomfield; one sister, Cerilla Goff of Bloomfield; one grandson, Darren (Donna) Owens; and four great-grandchildren, Sarah Wright, Allison Owens, Thomas Owens, and Christine Owens.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2016, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Bro. Richard Carwile and Bro. Terry Johnson officiating. Burial is in the Maple Grove Cemetery at Bloomfield.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Bloomfield Baptist Church Building Fund.
The Houghlin Funeral Home of Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
