Obituary: Joseph Randal McCubbins, 76, formerly of Bardstown
Joseph Randal McCubbins, 76, formerly of Bardstown, died Sunday, April 3, 2016, in Liberal, Kansas. He was born March 26, 1940, in Bardstown and was the son of Golden Wesley and Lula Margaret (Nalley) McCubbins.
He attended school in Bardstown, and had been a resident of Tucson, Ariz. for 35 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force at Lackland Air Force Base before being discharged. He was employed by Navajo Express Inc. as a truck driver for 26 years. He married Shirley A. McDougal Dec. 19, 1981, in Tucson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and one half-brother.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley A. McDougal; three daughters, Sandra Michelle Barber (Luther) of Boston, Kimberly Elaine Retallack (Ronald) of Springfield, and Vickie Lynn Burkhead (Stanley) of Taylorsville; one son, Joseph D. McCubbins (Susie) of Bardstown; one sister, Brenda Spalding (Joseph) of Bardstown; four half-sisters, Judy Nalley (David) of Jamestown, N.C., Patty Crume of Radcliff, Helen Johnson (Rob) of Radcliff and Tammy Potts (Ed) of Moncks Corner, S.C.; one brother, Bill McCubbins (LaVerne), Round O, S.C.; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Cremation was chosen. A memorial service is 1 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2016, at the First Cedar Creek Baptist Church with Bro. Ike Ferguson presiding. Inurnment is at the First Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation is 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the church.
