Obituary: Norman Roy ‘Snow’ Bishop, 88, Bardstown
Norman Roy “Snow” Bishop, 88, of Bardstown, died Sunday, April 10, 2016, at his residence. He was born Oct. 15, 1927, in Louisville. He retired from CSX Railroad after 42 years of service and then worked a their consultant for 14 more years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, a member of Highland Park Masonic Lodge # 865, and Parkway Baptist Church. He adored his loving family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Ruth Bishop; one brother, Ray Thomas Bishop; and son-in-law, Louis Beckmann.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Elizabeth Bishop; two daughters, Patricia Ann (Wade) Epley, and Donna Sue Beckmann, both of Bardstown; two sons, Russell Wade (Lisa) Bishop of Olathe, Kan., and Roy Norman (Teri) Bishop of Jacksonville, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Richard (Andrea) Epley, Norman (Meg) Epley, Elisha (Dwayne) Smith, Karey (Joe) Hankins, Thomas Bishop, Henry Bishop, Loren Bishop, and Samantha Bishop; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and one niece and one nephew.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, April 14, 2016, at Parkway Baptist Church with burial in the Bardstown Cemetery with Dr. James Carroll officiating.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9–10:15 a.m. Thursday at the Barlow Funeral Home in Bardstown.
