DORIS JEAN GEOGHEGAN

Doris Jean Geoghegan, 57, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at Life Care Center of Bardstown. She was born July 15, 1958, in Columbus, Ga. She was a kitchen designer, archivist, graduate of Bethlehem High School Class of 1976, Eastern Kentucky University, University of Kentucky, and the Louisville Institute of Technology. She was a Catholic faith, an avid reader and beloved aunt of 12 nieces and nephews, and one great-niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Malcolm H. and Lucibelle Allen “Lucy” Geoghegan; and one brother, Thomas Michael Geoghegan.

She is survived by four sisters, Mary Louise (John) Newton, and Anne Taylor Geoghegan, both of Bardstown, Nancy Carolyn (James “Mac”) Hayden of Villa Hills, and Linda Sue (James) Brady of Bardstown; two brothers, Malcolm Allen (Cheryl) Geoghegan of Frankfort, and William Arthur (Susan) Geoghegan of Huntsville, Ala.; two aunts, Anita Allen of Bardstown and Jean Keller of Shaker Heights, Ohio; two uncles, John (Doris) Allen of Bardstown and William Geoghegan of Elizabethtown; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The memorial service is 10 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery with the Rev. Terry Bradshaw officiating.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, April 15 and 8-10 a.m. Saturday at Barlow Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may go to Flaget Cancer Center or Humane Society of Nelson County.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
