Obituary: Dwight Irvin Cornell, 80, Bardstown

DWIGHT IRVIN CORNELL

Dwight Irvin Cornell, 80, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at his residence. He was born in Mount Washington to the late John William Foree and Mildred Frances McClure Cornell. He was a farmer for many years and for the past 27, the proprietor of Wilson Motel. He was a member of Bardstown Baptist Church, and a member of the Bardstown National Guard.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Cornell of Sacramento, Calif.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sue Carol Holloway Cornell of Bardstown; one daughter, Margaret Sue (Michael) Masters of Bardstown; one son, Dwight David (Sada S.) Cornell of Taylorsville; three sisters, Dolores (John R.) Oakley of Bardstown, Charlotte Wheeler of Vero Beach, Fla. and Sara Mae (Jim) Riney of Orlando; one brother, David B. Cornell of Louisville; two grandchildren, Dwight Irvin Cornell II and Elizabeth Holloway Cornell; and one great-grandson, Aiden Christopher Cornell.

Cremation was chosen by the family. The Celebration of Life visitation is 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016, at the Chapeze House, 107 East Stephen Foster Ave., Bardstown.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
