Obituary: Margie Iris Sturgill Harned, 76, Elizabethtown

Margie Iris Sturgill Harned, 76, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Boston and Lebanon Junction, died Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at her home. She was a graduate of Lebanon Junction High School, was retired from Dow Corning with 28 years of service, and was a member of Severns Valley funeral_flowerBaptist Church. She was the daughter of Charles and Mary Louanna Fields Sturgill. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her presence will be greatly missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Dorothy Myers and Evelyn Vincent; and four brothers, Charles Sturgill Jr., Raymond Sturgill, Walter Sturgill and Alfred Sturgill.

Survivors include two daughters, Marie Harned of Boston and Gail (Lowell) Floyd of Miami, Fla.; three sisters, Shirley (Robert) Payton and Judy (Homer) Carter, both of Elizabethtown and Millie Smith of Bardstown; one brother, Thomas (Sadalia) Sturgill of Lebanon Junction; one granddaughter, Shelby Floyd of Lexington; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016, at the First Baptist Church of Lebanon Junction with Bro. Jason McCray and Bro. Billy Curle officiating. Burial is in Lebanon Junction City Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction, and noon-2 p.m. Saturday at the church.
