Obituary: James Matthew LaFollette, 81, Lebanon Junction

James Matthew LaFollette, 81, of Lebanon Junction, died Monday, April 18, 2016, at the University of Louisville Hospital. He was a former funeral_floweremployee of Bob Hester Construction and a veteran of the Army.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Evelyn Arnette LaFollette; one son, Carl Douglas LaFollette; his parents, Matthew Eugene and Ella Mae Underwood LaFollette; and one sister, Evelyn Richardson.

He is survived by three daughters, Betty Joyce LaFollette, Marilyn Gayle Birch and Annette Simmons; two sons, James Curtis and Russell LaFollette; five sisters, Whyoma Fuqua, Christine Offutt, Edna LaFollette, Doris Foote and Shirley Johnson; one brother, Eddie Ashbaugh; and several grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016, at the Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction with Bro. Harold Decker officiating. Burial is in the Lebanon Junction City Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2016, noon-8 p.m. Friday, and 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

The Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction is in charge of the arrangements.
