Obituary: Carolyn Rose Wheatley, 49, Louisville
Carolyn Rose Wheatley, 49, of Louisville, died Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at her residence. She was born Dec. 17, 1966. in Marion County to the late Joseph Menzie and Patricia Ann Smith Wheatley. She was a caregiver for her family members and a part of the deaf community. At three days old she became one of the first at that age to undergo heart surgery. She also received a kidney and pancreas transplant in 2006.
Survivors include one sister, Judy Scholl (Don) of Raywick; seven brothers, Larry Wheatley (Lois), Ricky Wheatley (Mary), Ronnie Wheatley (Angie) and Tommy Wheatley, all of Raywick, Jerry Wheatley (Lee) and Billy Wheatley (Valarie), both of Louisville and Jeff Wheatley (Cherie) of Lexington; and her dogs Sparky and Precious.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Thursday, April 28, 2016, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 6964 Cissellville Road, Manton. Burial is in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Raywick with the Rev. Matt Hardesty officiating.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at the Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 5:15 p.m.
Memorial donations may go to St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 639 South Shelby Street, Louisville, KY 40202.
Her brothers will serve as pallbearers.
The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of the arrangements.
