Candidate filings: Johnson files to run for Bardstown City Council seat

Monday, May 16, 2016, 1 p.m. — Bardstown resident Michael Johnson filed Monday as a candidate for the Bardstown City Council.

Johnson, 27, is a resident of North Third Street. In his election finance filing, he indicated plans to spend less than $1,000 during the campaign. 2016-election-with-flagHowever, candidates may amend their filing at any time should they wish to spend more than this amount.

Johnson is the second candidate to file for Bardstown City Council.

Sean C. Ralston, 24, a resident of North Aspen Street, filed to run for city council on Thursday, May 5, 2016.

The city council race is non-partisan.

COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD. Incumbent Nelson County Board of Education member Damon Jackey is the only school board member to file for re-election to date.

Jackey represents the northeastern portion of Nelson County, including Fairfield, Bloomfield and the Chaplin areas.

School board seats are also non-partisan. Both races will be on the ballot in the General Election on Nov. 8, 2016.
