Former mayor, former co. attorney among filers for city council

Friday, May 20, 2016, 9 p.m. — Four additional candidates have filed for Bardstown City Council, with three of those candidates filing as a group on Friday afternoon.
Former councilman and Bardstown Mayor Dick Heaton, 62, a resident of Beechwold Place, former county attorney John S. Kelley Jr., 58, a resident of Kings Court, and Spalding Avenue resident David C. Dones, 53, each filed their paperwork as candidates for city council at the same time late Friday afternoon.
Daugherty Avenue resident David Erickson, 55, filed as a candidate for Bardstown City Council on Thursday.
The latest fillings make a total of six candidates so far for the council’s six seats. None of the sitting members of the Bardstown City Council have filed for re-election s far. The filing deadline to be a candidate for city council or other non-partisan local office that will be on the Nov. 8, 2016 ballot is 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9.
