Obituary: James Anthony ‘Billy’ Downs, 59, Lebanon
James Anthony “Billy” Downs, 59, of Lebanon, died Friday, May 20, 2016. He was born Aug. 28, 1956, in Marion County.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Melvin “Shorty” and Mary Theresa Edwards Downs; his first wife, Virginia Ann Simpson Downs; one sister, Mary Elizabeth “Libby” Furman; and one brother, Charles Downs.
Survivors include his wife, Stella Porter Downs of Lebanon; one daughter, Amber Downs of Lebanon; three sons, Anthony Owens of Owensboro, William “Boo Boo” Downs of Campbellsville, and Trey Downs, at home; one stepdaughter, Tori Porter of Lebanon; two sisters, Annie Catherine Downs and Frances Louise “Susie” Downs, both of Indianapolis; four brothers, Robert Leo Downs of Mississippi, Joseph “Joe” Downs and George Tommy Downs, both of Lebanon, James Kenneth “Bobby” Downs of Campbellsville; six grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews; and her adopted mother, Josephine Nuckols of Lebanon.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with the Rev. Bill Bowling.
Visitation is 4-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at the Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon with a 7 p.m. prayer service with Deacon Joe Dant.
The Bosley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
