Obituary: Michael Wayne Raymond, 55, Cox’s Creek

MICHAEL WAYNE RAYMOND

Michael Wayne Raymond, 55, of Cox’s Creek, died Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. He was born Dec. 8, 1960, in Columbus, Ohio. He was an employee of the Guthrie Opportunity Center for 25 years, participated in the Special Olympics, and was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Patrick “Jack” Raymond.

He is survived by his mother, Audrey Louise (Tom) Monroe of Louisville, his mother and guardian, Carole Raymond of Cox’s Creek; three sisters, Anne (Jamie) Powell and Mary (Tony) Deeley, both of Louisville and Kelly Stewart of Cox’s Creek; four brothers, Mark Raymond of Bardstown, John (Krista) Raymond of Lakeside, Texas, Bill (Kathleen) Webster of Louisville, and Gary Webster of Carbondale, Ill.; and several aunts and uncles.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2016, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Fairfield with the Rev. Terry Bradshaw celebrating. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with a prayer service Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contribution to St. Michael Catholic Church or Nelson County Industries.

The Houghlin Funeral Home of Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
