Jean M. Ball, 80, Bardstown
Mrs. Jean M. Ball, 80, of Bardstown, died Sunday, May 15, 2011, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville. She was born January 23, 1931, in Loretto, was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Parish.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Leslie and Lillian Lorene Mattingly Mudd and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Nelson Ball; a son, Sam Floyd (Mary Frances) of Cox’s Creek; a daughter, Mary Kaye (Ed) Griffin of Louisville; four grandchildren, Jason Lee Floyd, Samantha Jean Floyd, Stephanie Jo Floyd and Erin Rachael Griffin; one great grandson; one brother, Michael Mudd of Louisville; and three sisters, Margaret Mary Morgeson of Lebanon, Elizabeth Joan Stratton of Mount Washington and Katherine Janette Shewmaker of Louisville.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2011, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in St. Thomas Cemetery. Reverend Bill Hammer will celebrate.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 18, 2011, from 3 to 8:00 pm and Thursday after 8:30 a.m. at Mann and Greenwell Funeral Home. A prayer service will be 6 p.m. Wednesday by Deacon Dick Walsh.
