First Cedar Creek Baptist to honor graduates at Sunday 11 a.m. service

Monday, May 30, 2016 — The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church will honor high school and post-secondary school graduates during the 11 a.m. worship service on Sunday June 5, 2016. High school graduates who are active Sunday School and/or church members will have information they submitted about themselves read aloud and they will receive Bibles. Those graduates are Calista Reid, Marion County High School; Daniel Sorrell, Sorrell Home School; and Matthew Vittitow, Thomas Nelson High School.

Other graduates of church family members will have their names printed and read aloud. Church family member grads include Thomas Nelson High School graduates Mary Williamson, Nathaniel Roy, Chyanne Miles, Breanna Hardin, Brent Hardin, and Shawn Boone; Bardstown High School graduate Dane Dewitt; Maryville High School, Tenn. graduate Sidney Russell; and Lincoln Memorial University, Tenn. graduate Richard Alan Hoskins.

The Graduate Recognition Service has been an annual event of the church for more than 50 years. It is sponsored by the Deacon’s Wives group of the church.

FAREWELL BRO. TIM LUCAS. June 5th will also be the last Sunday Bro. Tim Lucas will be the pastor of The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church. Bro. Lucas has been called to serve at the Irvington Baptist Church in Irvington. In honor of the six and a half years of service by the Lucas family, a shared meal will be served in the Fellowship Hall following the morning worship service. Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and gravy will be supplied by the church.
