Obituary: Goebel Yaste Jr., 84, Loretto

Goebel Yaste Jr., 84, of Loretto, died Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at his residence. He was born March 3, 1932, in Gravel Switch. He was a farmer, a former school bus driver and a member of Stewart’s Creek Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Goebel Yaste Sr. and Dolora Phillips Yaste; three sisters, Juanita Raley, Quinta Keith and Sadie Lee Yaste; two brothers, James Yaste and Bill Yaste; one grandson.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Faye Bland Yaste; two daughters, Carol Yaste of Springfield and Suzi Wilson (Eddie) of Mayfield; four sons, David Yaste and Mark Yaste, both of Lebanon, Dennis Yaste of Loretto and Kevin Yaste (Vickie) of Bowling Green; two sisters, Lacheta Jarboe of Lebanon and Patty Morton (Craig) of Missouri; one brother, Vernon Yaste of Lexington; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2016, at the Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road in Loretto with burial in the St. Charles Cemetery. Pastor Dan Durham and the Rev. James W. Graf will officiate.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2016, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are grandsons, Nathan Yaste, Chad Hill, Caleb Yaste, Jed Wilson, Brian Yaste and Ethan Yaste.
