Francis Lydian is second sitting council member to file for re-election

Friday, May 27, 2016, 11 a.m. — Francis Lydian became the second sitting member of the Bardstown City Council to file for re-election on Friday morning.
Lydian, 80, a resident of Hollywood Drive in the city’s Edgewood neighborhood, is the eleventh person to file for one of the six seats on the Bardstown City Council. Lydian has served on the council for approximately 30 years.
Other candidates who have filed to run for city council include:
- incumbent councilman Roland “Coach Roe” Williams;
- former Mayor Bill Sheckles;
- Richard Nest;
- Franklin Thompson;
- former Mayor Dick Heaton;
- former County Attorney John Kelley;
- David C. Dones;
- David Erickson;
- Sean Ralston, and;
- Michael Johnson.
The filing deadline to be a candidate for city council or other non-partisan local office on the Nov. 8, 2016, ballot is 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9.
