County firefighters respond Monday for report of pickup truck fire

nc_fire200Tuesday, May 31, 2016, 10 a.m. — The Nelson County Fire Department responded Monday morning for a report of a pickup truck traveling on KY245 with a fire in its bed. Firefighters and police were dispatched at 8:22 a.m. after the truck was spotted traveling south on KY245 near Handy Food Mart. Apparently some burned wood in the back of the truck was rekindled and began buring again due to the wind blowing over the burned wood while the truck was in motion. By the time first-responders arrived, the fire was out and there was no damage.
