City police called to help ATV riders in woods behind Jaycee Park

May 31, 2016, 10:45 a.m. — Bardstown Fire, Nelson County EMS and Bardstown Police responded early Tuesday morning to the area of the bardstownpolicepatchBardstown Community Park at the end of East Halstead Ave.

At 2:39 a.m. Tuesday, Nelson County Dispatch dispatched first-responders for the possible rescue of an adult male and male juvenile were stuck in the woods beyond the Community Park, also known as the old Jaycee Park. The two individuals were last seen several hours earlier, first-responders were told. Dispatchers said their caller could hear an individual calling for help in the woods.

City police located the two individuals who said they were not injured. Officers helped the individuals and the ATV and dirt bike they were riding out of the woods. Firefighters and EMS were not needed.
