Bill Buckman files to keep seat on the Bardstown City Council

Friday, June 3, 2016 — Bill Buckman filed this Friday morning to keep his seat on the Bardstown City Council.
Buckman, 58, is a retired Bardstown Police officer and a resident of Old Nazareth Road. He will finish his first two-year term on the city council in December.
Buckman’s filing makes a total of 14 candidates who will seek one of the six council seats in the November election.
The other 13 candidates who have filed include:
- Freddy Riggs;
- Kecia Copeland (incumbent);
- Francis Lydian (incumbent);
- Roland “Coach Roe” Williams (incumbent);
- former Mayor Bill Sheckles;
- former Mayor Dick Heaton;
- former County Attorney John Kelley;
- Richard Nest;
- Franklin Thompson;
- David C. Dones;
- David Erickson;
- Sean Ralston;
- Michael Johnson.
The filing deadline to be a candidate for city council or other non-partisan local office on the Nov. 8, 2016, ballot is 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9.
