Bill Buckman files to keep seat on the Bardstown City Council

Friday, June 3, 2016 — Bill Buckman filed this Friday morning to keep his seat on the Bardstown City Council.

Buckman, 58, is a retired Bardstown Police officer and a resident of Old Nazareth Road. He will finish his first two-year term on the city council in December.

Buckman’s filing makes a total of 14 candidates who will seek one of the six council seats in the November election.

The other 13 candidates who have filed include:

  • Freddy Riggs;
  • Kecia Copeland (incumbent);
  • Francis Lydian (incumbent);
  • Roland “Coach Roe” Williams (incumbent);
  • former Mayor Bill Sheckles;
  • former Mayor Dick Heaton;
  • former County Attorney John Kelley;
  • Richard Nest;
  • Franklin Thompson;
  • David C. Dones;
  • David Erickson;
  • Sean Ralston;
  • Michael Johnson.

 

The filing deadline to be a candidate for city council or other non-partisan local office on the Nov. 8, 2016, ballot is 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9.
