Police identify Bardstown man murdered in Maple Hill shooting Friday night

Saturday, June 4, 2016, 10 a.m. — Bardstown Police are investigating a shooting death that happened Friday night at an apartment over the Broken Tee Night Club in the 700 block of West Stephen Foster Ave.
Police, Nelson County EMS and the Bardstown Fire Department were dispatched just before midnight Friday for a report of a man believed to have suffered a gunshot wound to the head.
Police identified the victim as Michael Wayne Unseld, 61, of Bardstown. City firefighters assisted EMS with the victim, who was transported to Flaget Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy is being planned, according to a police department release.
Police canvassed the surrounding neighborhood searching for the assailant, including use of a department K-9 officer. At this time police have not released a description of a suspect.
