Obituary: Archie Reid, 81, Bardstown
(UPDATED) Archie Reid, 81, of Bardstown, died Saturday, June 11, 2016, at his residence. He was born Sept. 6, 1934, in Nelson County. He was retired 
from Jim Beam Distillery. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of American Legion Post 121. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Jenifer Denton; his parents, Beckham and Sarah Lou Reid; one sister, Sr. Mary Jewell Reid; and one brother, Keith Reid.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Reid; one daughter, Tammy (Jimmy) Brooks of Cox’s Creek; two sons, Philip (Vandra) Reid and Ricky (Patty) Reid, both of Bardstown; one stepdaughter, Barbara (Robin) Gronovius of Elizabethtown; two stepsons, Michael (Angie) Hogge of Lexington and Phillip (Tink) Hogge of Newburyport, Mass.; one brother, William Ernest (Jo Ann) Reid of Bardstown; several nieces and nephews; and many loving grandchildren, stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The Funeral Mass is 1 p.m Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with the Rev. Jason Harris officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery .
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Monday, June 13, 2016, and 10 a.m.-12:15 Tuesday at Barlow Funeral Home. A prayer service is set for Monday evening at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may go to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pennies For Haiti.
Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
