Obituary: Charlie Lee Chesser, 79, Chaplin

Charlie Lee Chesser, 79, of Chaplin, died at 5:15 a.m., Monday, June 13, 2016, in Bloomfield. He was a native of Washington County born Dec. 18, 1936, to the late Thurman and Lula Lewis Chesser. He attended the Bloomfield Church of God where he formerly served as song leader.

He was a retired awarded employee of General Electric with the highest seniority rank at 53 years of continuous service. He loved gardening, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in dath by two brothers, Randall Chesser and J.B. Chesser.

Surviving him is his wife of 59 years, Barbara Case Chesser; one daughter, Penny Chesser Spalding (Larry) of Bardstown; two sons, Bobby Allen Chesser and T.J. Chesser, both of Chaplin; one sister, Robbie Sparrow of Willisburg; three brothers, Albert Lee Chesser (Anna Ruth) and Ray Junior Chesser, both of Willisburg and Hobert Earl Chesser of Bardstown; one grandchild, Teraca Ford (Brandon) of Cox’s Creek; two great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Ford and Gage Ford.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Sparrow and Rev. Everett Hood officiating. Burial is in the Highview Cemetery in Chaplin.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Carey & Son Funeral Home in Springfield.

The Carey & Son Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of the arrangements.
