Obituary: Randell Jackson, 78, Boston

Randell Jackson, 78, of Boston, died Sunday, June 19, 2016, at this home. He attended Boston Christian Church. He was born in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., on Oct. 15, 1937, to the late Ernest and Amy Keith Jackson. He retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years, and retired from CSX in funeral_candleLouisville after 18 years of service. He was an active member of the McNeil Masonic Lodge 586 in Lebanon Junction.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Charlene Noe; and one brother, Wayne Jackson.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Hazel Fern Dones Jackson of Boston; one daughter, Gwendelyn Faye Jackson Newton of Elizabethtown; one son, Robert Carl “Bobby” (Connie) Jackson of Lebanon Junction; three sisters, Ruby Williams of Cecilia, Norma (Kenny) Mink of Sonora, and Linda (Lyden) Nevins of Hodgenville; two brothers, Joe Jackson of Elizabethtown and Billy (Fran) Jackson of New Albany Ind.; two grandsons, Keith Jackson and Tyler Jackson; two stepgranddaughters, Billie Jo Roan and Jamie Doan; one stepgrandson, Bryan Newton; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at the Boston Christian Church with Chaplain Terry Troutman officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2016 and 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the William R. Rust Funeral Home Boston Chapel in Boston. A Masonic service is 6 p.m. Tuesday with Larry Dangerfield officiating.

The William R. Rust Funeral Home Boston Chapel, 12783 Boston Rd., Boston, is in charge of the arrangements.
